Faenza potteries

Just as for the textile prints, the origins of the traditional potteries and earthenware of Romagna are lost in the mists of time. The original patterns date back to ancient times, but have often been renovated by skilful craftsmen and artists who have always followed the typical designs of the textile prints.


Ravenna mosaics

The town is rich in mosaics and, bearing in mind its artistic tradition, has managed to modernize this expressive form of art, although the materials used are always very hard to work. Modern mosaics are made with multiform materials, enamels, marbles and pebbles, wood, iron, clay and even lumps of sugar – all fixed with different kinds of adhesives and binders. Traditional mosaics are made with natural freestone or artificial materials, such as glass and terracotta.
