Cesenatico: MARINERIA, festival of traditions
Cesenatico from 3 to 6 of June 2010 the 2nd edition of “Marineria”, a big festival completely dedicated to the marine culture with entertainments, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, laboratories, tastings and much more!
Cesenatico is always in close contact with the sea culture and is also engaged to the improvement of its maritime identity, testified especially by the Maritime Museum, one of the most important reality of this field.
The Emilia Romagna Region and the Town Hall of Cesenatico, in cooperation with Gesturist Spa, from 3 to 6 of June 2010 present the 2nd edition of the review “Marineria”.
It’s a big festival dedicated to the traditions, ships, tastes, entertainments and meetings, with an articulate program rich of opportunities for those who want to discover the heritage of the maritime tradition. On the other hand, Cesenatico is a seaside resort that had always knew understand the relationship between culture and tourism, in respect of its marine memory and identity, meant also such as promotional resource for a kind of tourism that is able to discover values and appeals of the history and tipicality of its places.
The program includes a large part of the charming universe of the maritime culture. The events are splitted in several categories: Meetings, with entertainments, concerts and theatrical performances connected to the rediscovery of the “immaterial heritage” of the maritime traditions; the old games and the tales for children at the Maritime Museum; forums, like the conference dedicated to the history, the tradition and the innovations of the sails; historical boats, with sailing courses dedicated to all the lovers of these fascinating ships and its characteristic coloured lugsails, decorated with the symbols of the fishers’ families. .
For all the children, will be organized a review of creative games and traditional tales about the sea, with the participation of Elisa Mazzoli, author and storyteller of fairy tales, nursery rhymes and short stories.
The marine culture will be celebrated also through the art exhibitions of Gerard Roses and Osvaldo Piraccini at the Maritime Museum. And furthermore fish tastings, historical sailing school, naval model-making and much more! .... more info
